Royal Agricultural Show May 2019 – Pietermaritzburg, KZN

Huge fun once again putting together the entertainment line-up for the KFC River Stage at the Royal Agricultural Show. The kids always have such a blast watching the various acts ranging from science experiments, animal shows to demo’s by the Sharks Board. The KFC Burger eating challenge is also always a big hit! Then back for the 4th time we put together the annual Duck Dash to help raise funds for CHOC (Children with cancer). We managed to raise of R16,000 through this very fun event thanks to the kind sponsorship of prizes from Husqvarna . Ending off the 10days we arranged the first ever Marimba Band Festival in the main arena, where 8 of the top school bands took to the stage to perform.

Husqvarna, Nampo May 2019 – Bothaville, Free State

We recently undertook to design and build an outdoor exhibition stand for Husqvarna at the Nampo HarvestDay Show. Grain SA’s NAMPO Harvest Day is one of the largest agricultural exhibitions under private ownership in the southern hemisphere and it takes place annually, just outside of the town of Bothaville, in the Free State with over 750 exhibitors.

Husqvarna’s 30m x 30m stand was awarded a silver award for their site by the Nampo organisers which is first in their history of attending the show.

Protea Events are very proud to have been able to do this for Husqvarna.

Defy Conference February 2019– Midrand, Gauteng

An action packed 2day conference which had Defy staff flying in from all parts of Africa to attend. The conference sessions were held at their lovely new Midrand Regional Office and Showroom followed by the Gala Awards evening at the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton. Guest speaker Ian Thomas spoke about the Pride of the Lion and how businesses could benefit from understanding how the pride works and applying basic principals used by the prides within their own businesses. Then to get the energy back into the room we had a team building session with the team from Drum Tribe who got the delegates doing things they have never done before! For the gala evening Badwolf band kept the audience entertained with their jazz renditions of popular songs.
